Call of Duty: Elite downloads hit PS3 this month

As downloadable maps trickle in for Call of Duty Elite subscribers on the Xbox 360, the big question has been when would owners of the PlayStation 3 begin to reap the benefits.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling confirmed on Twitter that PS3 owners with a paid Elite subscription will get their first DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Feb. 28.

PS3 players will have access to two multiplayer maps: Piazza and Liberation. Here is a breakdown of each:

Piazza: “Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise.”

Liberation: “Mounted turrets on either end lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Plan out your movement and always be aware of nearby sightlines to avoid becoming fodder for the enemy.”

In a press release issued Thursday, Activsion did not disclose how the rest of the PS3 schedule for Modern Warfare 3 content would break down.
