Next version of Epic Mickey might be available for Xbox and PS3 platforms

Get your magic paint brush ready.

With all the Epic Mickey 2 rumors circulating this week, it almost seems like a done deal that the second installment of the popular game franchise will be available for the first time on the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms.

The critically acclaimed game, developed by Warren Spector (Deus Ex) and his Junction Point Studio, was released in 2010 exclusively for the Wii.

Now, though, several sources are reporting that Epic Mickey 2 will be multiplatform and feature a two-player split mode (the first version is a single-player game) that will allow gamers to choose the role of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to play alongside Mickey.

These rumors started circulating earlier this week after what appears to be an erroneous web posting of a Disney newsletter, which had the details regarding the upcoming release of Epic Mickey 2. That “leaked” newsletter, though, has since been removed from online, but not before a host of websites gathered info and photos from the release.

Regardless of possible platforms or other details, fans can expect the game to be released at the end of the year.
