‘Skyrim’ For PS3 May Be Broken

Since its release, Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has received almost universal praise. Then, the PS3 players started to run into some problems. For many PS3 users, once your Skyrim save file starts to exceed 6 MB (usually after about 25-30 hours of play) the game begins to experience framerate issues. I’m not talking some minor attractiveness concerns, it can actually reach the point of being unplayable:

Bethesda claims to be studying the issue and will release a patch as soon as possible. Skyrim is also a pretty massive game, and this doesn’t appear to be happening in all versions (or even all PS3s). Still, you have to wonder why the game is being released with these kinds of major bugs in the first place. We’re not taking about horses hanging off the side of a mountain here - these are people finding their brand new game doesn’t work midway through.
