Just in case you were thinking “I haven’t heard any PS3 Slim rumors lately,” we got the newest dish right here for you. According to reports by Joystiq Japan and Chinese Engadget, Sony has awarded two Taiwanese manufacturing companies contracts to construct the aforementioned PS3 Slim. While at first, this information may not appear to substantiate the rumor, further information reveals that the two firms awarded the contracts, Foxconn and Pegatron, manufactured the original PS3.
The article further states that early July is the expected shipping date for the units, which would comply with other rumors, as well as the summer being Japan’s biggest game sales period. Don’t expect Sony to confirm anything just yet, but the evidence continues to pile on that the PS3 Slim really exists and is all but ready to hit shelves this year.
