Firmware 3.0 to be Out Before Christmas?

Today VG247 posted about a supposed mole in Sony. I don’t believe it, and neither should you, but I’ll give you the details anyways, just remember nothing is official till Sony announces it. Anyways, the supposed mole says firmware 3.0 will bring a grief reporting system, just like LittleBigPlanet, allow patches to be downloaded in the background (why do we need this?), and simultaneous HDMI and digital optical outputting will be also included in the release, which will make our audio guys from the Blueraycenter forums happy. They also claim to know more but won’t release the information. As a response SCEA’s Patrick Seybold said, “Those rumors are completely untrue, nothing has been announced or confirmed for upcoming PlayStation firmware, and this is just wild speculation.”

Without cross game chat, which has been confirmed to be working on by the developers, this list of enhancements fails, but is welcome. Again as a disclaimer this is completely rumored and should be taken lightly till Sony announces it.

What would you like to see in a new firmware?
